THE EVANGELICAL-LUTHERAN COMMUNITY IN AZERBAIJAN: A RETROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS
ABSTRACT
This article looks at the life of the Protestant religious community in Azerbaijan, studies the history of how the German population that formed the foundation of the Protestant, Evangelical-Lutheran community migrated to Azerbaijan, and sheds light on the activity of the Lutheran church. A scientific analysis of the ethnoconfessional diversity that exists today in Azerbaijan reconfirms the peace-loving and respectful attitude of the Azerbaijani people toward different cultures, and the traditions of tolerance and a liberal attitude toward religion that have developed over the centuries in this country.
Introduction
Located at the crossroads between the West and the East, Azerbaijan is an interesting geopolitical region with a rich historical past and cultural heritage.
