Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine social action movements conducted in the practice of agrarian conflict resolution through community development. In practice, the social action movement is part of the community organizing stages and the first phase of community development activities as an effort to resolve agrarian conflicts. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data derived from primary and secondary ones while data collection techniques were done through in- depth interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data display, data reduction, and concluding. The research site is in the Genteng Village, Sukasari District, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province. The results of the research show that in the social action movement of agrarian conflict resolution through community development, several aspects need to be considered,i.e. the problems being responded to, the forms of social action movements, the actors involved, the participation of actors and the results of the social actions.
