Central Asia and the Caucasus

Central Asia and the Caucasus is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and analytical papers exploring the political, economic, social, and cultural transformations within Central Asia and the Caucasus. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for scholars, policymakers, and professionals to share research on regional dynamics, integration, security, and development.

Mission: To advance global understanding of Central Asia and the Caucasus through rigorous academic research, policy analysis, and cross-regional dialogue.

Scope

The journal welcomes scholarly contributions addressing contemporary issues, historical processes, and international relations involving Central Asia and the Caucasus, including:

  • Geopolitics, regional security, and foreign policy
  • International relations and regional cooperation
  • Economic reforms, trade, and development
  • Energy, resources, and environmental issues
  • Governance, democratization, and institutional reforms
  • Migration, ethnicity, and identity politics
  • Cultural heritage, language, and education
  • Human rights, civil society, and social inclusion
  • Infrastructure and regional connectivity
  • Comparative and interdisciplinary studies

Editorial & Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment followed by double-blind peer review. Research articles are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise. The final publication decision is made by the editor based on the reviewers' reports and the overall quality of the manuscript.

Special issue submissions, where applicable, follow the same editorial and peer-review standards as regular submissions.

Open Access

Central Asia and the Caucasus is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription or registration requirements.

Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full text of published articles in accordance with the applicable licence.

Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits sharing, adaptation, and reuse provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s).

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Authors must ensure that all appropriate ethical requirements are followed.
  • All listed authors must approve the submitted manuscript.

Publication Ethics & Research Integrity

Corrections & Retractions
