Submission Guide

1. Overview

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to Central Asia and the Caucasus. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine their suitability within the journal's scope. Suitable submissions will undergo peer review to determine acceptance or rejection.

Before submitting, authors must obtain permission to publish any included materials, such as photos, documents, and datasets. All listed authors must consent to their authorship. Where applicable, research must be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

Submissions that do not meet minimum quality standards may be desk rejected. Ensure that the study design and research argument are well-structured and clearly articulated. The title should be concise, and the abstract should effectively summarize the study. Follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

2. Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other materials included with this submission.

Detailed Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting your manuscript to Central Asia and the Caucasus, ensure you have completed all the following steps. Manuscripts that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned for revisions before entering the review process.

Manuscript Formatting
  • The manuscript is written in clear, concise English and follows standard academic writing conventions.
  • The document is double-spaced, with 1-inch (2.5 cm) margins on all sides.
  • A standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 10-point) is used throughout the manuscript.
  • Pages are numbered consecutively, starting with the title page.
Title Page
  • The title page includes the title of the manuscript, which is concise and informative.
  • Full names and institutional affiliations of all authors are provided.
  • Contact information for the corresponding author, including email address and phone number, is included.
  • Any acknowledgments of funding sources, contributors, or other support are listed.
Abstract and Keywords
  • The abstract is a single paragraph, not exceeding 250 words, summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
  • Provide 3-5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript, listed in alphabetical order and separated by commas.
Main Text
  • The manuscript is organized into the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
    • Introduction: Clearly states the research question or hypothesis.
    • Methods: Provides detailed information on the study design, participants, interventions, data collection, and analysis methods.
    • Results: Presents the findings of the study in a clear and logical sequence.
    • Discussion: Interprets the results in the context of existing research, discussing implications, strengths, and limitations.
    • Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings and their implications for practice, policy, or further research.
References
  • All references cited in the text are listed at the end of the manuscript.
  • References follow a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, Vancouver) and are complete and accurate.
Tables and Figures
  • Tables and figures are included at the end of the manuscript or in separate files.
  • Each table and figure has a concise, descriptive caption.
  • Tables and figures are numbered consecutively in the order they are cited in the text.
Ethical Considerations
  • All listed authors meet the authorship criteria as defined by the ICMJE.
  • A conflict of interest statement is included, disclosing any financial or personal relationships that could bias the research.
  • For studies involving human participants or animals, a statement confirming that the research was conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines and that necessary approvals were obtained from relevant ethics committees is included.
  • If applicable, confirmation that informed consent was obtained from all participants is included.
Data Sharing
  • A data availability statement describing where the data supporting the findings of the study can be found is included.
  • Any supplementary material supporting the main findings is submitted as separate files and referenced in the manuscript.
Cover Letter
  • A cover letter addressed to the editor is included, briefly introducing the study, its significance, and confirming that the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.

Copyright and Publishing Rights
  • Authors retain the copyright to their work and grant Central Asia and the Caucasus the right to publish the manuscript as the first publisher.
Licensing
  • All published articles will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows others to share and adapt the work, provided proper attribution is given to the original authors and the source.
Attribution Requirements
  • Proper attribution includes the author's name, the title of the work, a link to the license, and an indication of any changes made to the original work.
Non-Exclusive Distribution
  • Authors may enter into additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of the work (e.g., posting to institutional repositories or including in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Responsibility for Permissions
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use any third-party material included in their manuscript. Proof of permission must be provided upon submission.
